Fall Risk
Greetings,
Welcome to this week's newsletter on Fall Risk. We are utilizing resource articles provided by CDC (U.S. CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION) for the information within today's newsletter. Reminder, CDC identifies an "older adult" as any one 65 years old and older.

Focus Point #1:
"Falls are a threat to the health of older adults and can reduce their ability to remain independent."
Focus Point #2:
Focus Point #3:
"Broken hips are one of the most serious fall injuries. The chances of breaking your hip increase as you get older."
Focus Point #4:
"In fact, more than one out of four older people falls each year, but less than half tell their doctor."
Focus Point #5:
"Falls are the most common cause of traumatic brain injuries (TBI)."
Although these focus points may be difficult to accept, thankfully, falls are preventable with appropriate correctable measures. Many times, this includes training modules based upon balance, coordination, strength conditioning, agility, and mobility. Also, it helps to have more light in dark areas of an environment along with removing tripping hazards in the home and / or workplace. Wellness is an asset, invest in thyself.
May this message find you well,
Neck Health
