Mouth Breathing
Greetings,
Welcome to this week's newsletter on Mouth Breathing. We will be focusing on the damaging effects from mouth breathing. This ought to bring additional clarity to your healing journey.
Fact #1:
The most common cause of mouth breathing is due to nasal obstruction. Many people state, "I have trouble breathing out my nose." This causes people to compensate (incorrectly) to mouth breathing. Often times, natural remedies successfully open the nasal passage way; thus, allowing the person to begin creating the habit of breathing through the nose.
Fact #2:
Mouth breathing decreases the amount of oxygen levels in the body; thus, organs have access to less oxygen. Less oxygen creates more inflammation. Long term inflammation causes generalized disorders / dysfunctions for heart, lungs, brain, nerves, stomach, and many other systems & organs.
Fact #3:
Mouth breathing contributes to tooth decay. Saliva is a natural lubricant for teeth. Adequate saliva flow/presence helps hydrate and cleanse the oral cavity. Mouth breathing causes "dry mouth"; thus, removing a protective barrier from teeth causing brittleness and / or tooth decay.
Fact #4:
Mouth breathing and poor posture are linked. A common sign to mouth breathing is forward head posture which creates a "collapsed" neck. Forward head posture is also caused by weakened neck musculature. Be mindful of your posture as you overcome mouth breathing.
Continue studying, your health is worth it.
May this message find you well,
